Road trip to Lake Chapala

Our road trip home had an early stop at some Matlazinca ruins 2 small ceremonial pyramids. We arrived so early we had to let ourselves in!

The entire region grows Noche Buena or (Red Poinsettia)Thousands of farms, each ranging from single huts to hectares of grow tunnels.

We hit the road back to Guadalajara, with Lake Chapala our destination.

We'd just stopped for fuel & decided to push on without a break when we joined the back of this traffic jam, fortunately it was moving; well for cars anyway & we weaved through parked trucks until we understood why. This was one of the reasons we took out a full insurance policy!
